What happens when a ghost assassin faces off against an infamous serial killer?
The name is Venture. Adina Venture, Deathwalker and international woman of mystery. After side-stepping an apocalypse and diffusing an inter-organizational war, the Order has now tapped me for an overseas mission at their London base. Apparently, they’ve had their hands full with a serial killer whose murders bear a striking resemblance to–who else?–Jack the Ripper. However, despite multiple witnesses at the scene, no one has seen his face, and the security footage shows no one attacking the victims. The villain is, by all accounts, invisible.
Could there be another “me” in the world?
It’s a compelling question. More compelling still is that I’ll be escorted on this mission by Chief Inquisitor Levi Breitling, since he is the only Order employee familiar with my abilities.
Exactly *how* familiar is something we’ve kept hidden from his superiors—and my family—for months.
But things work differently on the other side of the pond, where even the power of Chaos bows to the Rigour, a silent and all-controlling presence that’s determined to stop Breitling and I from enjoying each other’s company (wink, wink). Not only that, but after meeting the new “Ripper,” I’m not sure he’s the callous monster everyone thinks he is. Of course, the London authorities don’t believe me, and even Breitling is questioning my objectivity. Stuck in a foreign land and stymied at every turn, I need to close this case before the mounting frustrations break me—and Breitling—for good.
Full of gothic magic, noirish mystery, and a smoldering forbidden romance, Death by Miss Adventure is the award-winning series perfect for fans of snarky female sleuths, strong silent types, and a dash more spice than your average mystery.
